Current Events-The Delusion

Virtual reality...the next hot trend. Im willing to suggest the "delusion" alluded to in 2 Thessalonians 2 may somehow be linked to virtual reality. Curious? Not me. Im ok with actual reality.

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

"It's all about the first step," said Stephanie Llamas, director of research and insights at SuperData Research. "Once they take it, you open them to a world of possibilities they couldn't have imagined. It's a Matrix moment. But they can't know the possibilities without being proactive, so companies not only have to make consumers aware but also make them feel like trying it was their own idea."

Just like satan did in the garden...he deceived her/lulled her into taking that "first step" and the "world of possibilities" that would come with it. But in order to be like God, they had to take the first bite. And although the Word doesn't say that Eve and Satan discussed the event after the fact, I'd venture to say that he would've absolved himself from any wrongdoing and blamed her for it all. He doesn't make people sin...he just paints the picture to see if they'd buy it. It is our own hidden desires that ultimately make us sin. As it is written "each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."

I would guess this "virtual reality" would have a bigger impact than drugs because it removes people from reality without any tangible side effects.
