Sounds like a threat either way...except THIS front is credible. China desires to annex Taiwan at any cost. And Biden, without ambiguity, says the US would defend it.
Did he forget that the US doesn't really engage in direct war talk with China? Or was it a deliberate act?
To form an educated opinion, consider that as senator, Biden was twice elected as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Foreign policy is his forte.

I can see China moving militarily against Taiwan but I doubt they would so as a first resort against the US.
