Ukrainian president signs formal request to join the European Union
THIS IS GOING TO MEASURE WHETHER OR NOT VLADIMIR WAS PLAYING POLITICS OR WAS DEAD SERIOUS...
I SERIOUSLY DOUBT HE IS GOING TO PLAY SEMANTICS BECAUSE TECHNICALLY, HE ONLY MENTIONED NATO (NOT THE EU) IN HIS UKRAINE NARRATIVE. THE WEST IS RATCHETING UP ITS COUNTER JUST AS FAST IF NOT FASTER AND I DONT THINK HE FORESAW IT.
JUST A FEW MORE DIPLOMATIC MOVES (FURTHER SANCTIONS, ISOLATIONISM, MILITARY THREATS FROM BOTH SIDES) AWAY FROM FINDING OUT.

The presidents of Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia published an open letter on Monday urging the European Union (EU) to immediately grant Ukraine candidate country status and begin negotiations on its formal acceptance into the bloc.
