The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will hold a one-day summit next month to help state and local officials fight the Zika virus.

"This meeting will also provide an opportunity to increase knowledge of best communications practices and identify possible gaps in preparedness and response at the federal, state, and local levels."

At which point, FEMA would step in as well. 

Can a disease outbreak become a federal emergency? I dont know but since it's never happened before, it probably wont happen.

The CDC aims "to arm state and local leaders with the necessary knowledge and technical support to have a comprehensive Zika Readiness Action Plan."

This whole article seems a bit suspicious...starting with the "bacteria" name...Elizabethkingia anophelis.

"So-called"? IS there such a thing as a CDC detective? If so, is the journalist ridiculing the notion thereof? In Brazil, where apparently there is a disease outbreak, there ARE zika police. What if that were to happen in the US?

On Friday, North Korea strongly condemned the new resolution and threatened a strong response, according to China's official Xinhua News Agency. It is the "worst and most explicit international criminal act that aims to isolate and stifle the defensive and just sovereign state," says a statement of a government spokesman.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, for the second day in a row, said the country's "nuclear warheads need to be ready for use at any time," the North's official Korea Central News Agency reported Friday.

Rogers Holdings Chairman Jim Rogers is certain that the U.S. economy will be in recession in the next 12 months.

A recession? That's an understatement. A dollar collapse would be a cataclysmic event.

During an interview on BloombergTV, the famous investor said that there was a 100 percent probability that the U.S. economy would be in a downturn within one year.

Not sure when...but I am sure that you can't print yourself out of debt.

"It's been seven years, eight years since we had the last recession in the U.S. and normally, historically we have them every four to seven years for whatever reason—at least we always have," he said. "It doesn't have to happen in four to seven years but look at the debt, the debt is staggering."

Yes, the debt is STAGGERING.

Disease outbreak causes the government to go door-to-door. What kind of repercussions would there be if something like that were to happen in the states?
