Late Thursday night, the House of Representatives unanimously passed a far-reaching Russia sanctions bill, a hydra-headed incubator of poisonous conflict. The second provocative anti-Russian legislation in a week, it further polarizes our relations with Russia, helping to cement a Russia-China alliance against Western hegemony, and undermines long-term America’s financial and physical security by handing the national treasury over to war profiteers.
Here’s how the House’s touted “unanimity” was achieved: Under a parliamentary motion termed “unanimous consent,” legislative rules can be suspended and any bill can be called up. If any member of Congress objects, the motion is blocked and the bill dies.
At 10:23:54 p.m. on Thursday, a member rose to ask “unanimous consent” for four committees to be relieved of a Russia sanctions bill. At this point the motion, and the legislation, could have been blocked by a single member who would say “I object.” No one objected, because no one was watching for last-minute bills to be slipped through.
Most of the House and the media had emptied out of the chambers after passage of the $1.1 trillion government spending package.
The Russia Sanctions bill that passed “unanimously,” with no scheduled debate, at 10:23:55 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2014, includes:
1. Sanctions of Russia’s energy industry, including Rosoboronexport and Gazprom.

2. Sanctions of Russia’s defense industry, with respect to arms sales to Syria.
3. Broad sanctions on Russians’ banking and investments.

7. Thirty million dollars for an intensive radio, television and Internet propaganda campaign throughout the countries of the former Soviet Union.
8. Twenty million dollars for “democratic organizing” in Ukraine.
9. Sixty million dollars, spent through groups like the National Endowment for Democracy, “to improve democratic governance, and transparency, accountability [and] rule of law” in Russia. What brilliant hyperbole to pass such a provision the same week the Senate’s CIA torture report was released.
10. An unverified declaration that Russia has violated the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, is a nuclear “threat to the United States” and should be held “accountable.”
11. A path for the U.S. withdrawal from the INF Treaty, which went into force in 1988. The implications of this are immense. An entire series of arms agreements are at risk of unraveling. It may not be long before NATO pushes its newest client state, Ukraine, to abrogate the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which Ukraine signed when it gave up its nuclear weapons, and establish a renewed nuclear missile capability, 300 miles from Moscow.
12. A demand that Russia verifiably dismantle “any ground launched cruise missiles or ballistic missiles with a range of between 500 and 5,500 kilometers ...”—i.e., 300 and 3,300 miles.

The ruble fell to a new low of 73 against the dollar on Tuesday.
Initially, the ruble reacted favorably to the monetary policy move to prop up the troubled currency. It rallied for a few hours before sliding back into record-low territory.
The Central Bank's rate rise — from 10.5% — was its biggest single move since 1998, Bloomberg reported. That is the same year that the Russian government defaulted on its sovereign debt.
Not good. Desperate needs call for desperate measures. Russia's central bank raised a key interest to an eye-popping 17% in an effort to halt a steep slide in the ruble and avert a perilous bout of inflation.

DETROIT — A massive power outage throughout the city on Tuesday knocked out electricity to most public buildings, trapping many people in elevators and cutting power to police departments, fire stations, schools, jails and traffic lights.
LOL...That's what happens when you don't pay the bills...it's true of everybody.
A city spokesman said most of municipal grid was down. Some police officers speaking to their dispatcher on police scanners said they were concerned about running out of gasoline because gas pumps were down.
Very concerning because without cops...looting and rioting can take place undeterred...

As part of a three-year deal that’s going to make both Real Madrid and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi a lot of money, Madrid president Florentino Perez unveiled a new Los Blancos credit card that would double as a membership card for the club.
The card features the club crest, but noticeably missing is the Christian cross, which would normally be seen atop the crown.
The new club cards have no cross, presumably in an attempt to not upset Muslim customers. The National Bank is, after all, the leading bank of the United Arab Emirates.

"What I'm going to be laying out is the things that I can do, with my lawful authority as president, to make the system work better — even as I continue to work with Congress and encourage them to get a bipartisan, comprehensive bill that can solve the entire problem."

The U.S.-China pledge announced in Beijing to reduce carbon emissions caught Australian summit planners off guard. The accord between the world's two biggest polluters had not been expected, and Australia's conservative prime minister Tony Abbott initially resisted putting climate change on the G20 agenda. Australia is the rotating chairman of the G20, formed in 2008 to deal with pressing global economic issues.
Obama will also announce a $3 billion U.S. contribution to the United Nations Green Climate Fund that facilitates poorer countries' investments in clean energy. The George W. Bush administration into 2008 had pledged $2 billion to the World Bank's Climate Investment Funds.
U.S. officials say the contribution will promote sustainable growth while preserving stability and security in some of the world's most fragile regions. The contribution, they say, demonstrates the need to reach across traditional divides to tackle climate change.

In just one generation, Latin America has seen the number of people who identify themselves as Catholic plummet, with more people becoming Protestant or dropping religion altogether, a new report shows.
Why?
The most common answer was people saying they wanted a more personal connection with God.
Christ's sacrifice did away with the role of an intercessor, the role that priests used to play while guiding Israel towards the incarnation. Christ himself became that interceding lamb/sacrifice and so the need for a middle-party becomes less necessary. Relationship with God is intimate and that is non-existant with someone always in the middle like a priest. No matter how much a person may want to cleanse themselves through an institution, it is not the same when doing so with God and through God. God became man. God is personal. God is Father. "And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven."

It brings to mind the NDAA. It tells me that the LAW gives people confidence through the authority vested into them. That's why people change laws, because since Law is so absolute, whoever dares change it, and succeeds, can in essence be considered to be above that last law. Even though everything Hitler did was hateful...everything he did was LEGAL. It was more important to comply with the rule of law than to comply with the law of love.
Being "right" does attract authority. But it takes skill to change laws to suit your own "right" agenda.
INTERnational Socialism....the only thing in the way....is the capitalist empire...

After a daring 7-hour descent, a miniature spacecraft settled safely onto the rugged surface of a comet 300 million miles from Earth this morning, provoking cheers of triumph and relief from scientists and engineers assembled at the mission control room in Germany.
Wow! That is great! The human race is just so....wow....Im without words. Humans have become so knowledgeable! Maybe one day we will travel all the way to heaven! We landed on a comet! And we will be able to talk to aliens! Prevent any sort of unruly space cadet or projectile.

On its official website, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (yes, that’s really a thing and yes, it is housed right here in the United States) announced that the UN’s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) “will enter into force on 24 December 2014.”
The agreement demands that national governments take “appropriate measures” to enforce the terms of the treaty, including civilian disarmament. On its official website, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (yes, that’s really a thing and yes, it is housed right here in the United States) announced that the UN’s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) “will enter into force on 24 December 2014.”

Wall Street investors are driving major market indexes higher Wednesday -- the Dow hitting a new all-time high -- after the Republican party secured control of the U.S. Senate for the first time in eight years on Tuesday.
This could only mean that the economy has recovered fully and we are back at full-strength. Phew, what a relief.

No doubt there is much celebrating among Republicans after having recaptured the Senate majority they lost in 2006, and rightly so. They won by fielding a generally solid and disciplined roster of candidates who were able to capitalize on President Obama's unpopularity and outperformed the expectations set by pre-election polls.
And now everything is set...the people will "re-like" Bo when he comes to the rescue probably after an event with a magnitude greater than 9-11 takes place...

In a surprise move on Friday, the Bank of Japan dramatically increased the size of the quantitative easing program that it has been conducting. This sent Japanese stocks soaring and the Japanese yen plunging. The yen had already fallen by about 11 percent against the dollar over the last year before this announcement, and news of the BOJ’s surprise move caused the yen to collapse to a seven year low. Essentially what the Bank of Japan has done is declare a currency war...
If you boost your exports by devaluing your currency, you take away business from someone else. And ultimately other nations start devaluing their currencies in an attempt to stay competitive. That is why they call it a currency war.
It's already having an impact in surrounding economies as shares of auto makers Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors fell 5.9% and 5.6%, respectively, on Monday.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tuesday he will postpone a controversial sales tax rise scheduled for next October and call a parliamentary election two years earlier than planned.The announcement was made at an executive meeting of Abe's Liberal Democratic Party and comes as Japan's economy recently slipped back into recession.
On Monday, Japan said its economy contracted at a real annual rate of 1.6% in July-September, a second straight quarterly decline that returned the country to recession.

I kinda feel bad writing so much about AC but I find Bo's demeanor incredibly hilarious in these clips. He is absolutely incredulous over the sheeple thinking these mid-term elections will have any impact on that which has been pre-determined...
