ATHENS, July 12 (Reuters) - Vaccinations against COVID-19 will be mandatory in Greece for healthcare workers and nursing home staff as new infections in the country continue to rise, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday.
This happened after France took the same measures. The only difference is Macron stated that starting Sept.15 there would be controls and sanctions.
These events in of themselves aren't that alarming since healthcare workers are on the frontline battling the pandemic. What IS concerning is the precedent that it sets for making the vaccine mandatory and Macron indicating there would be consequences for healthcare workers choosing not to be vaccinated.
