I ran into one of my writings that mentioned the Grace of God.
And it reminded me of my younger days when my "friends" would make fun of me, calling me a "hypocrite" for preaching the word of God while still going to the bars and clubs, while still throwing 3 c's on luck almost every weekend, and living life in the pursuit of pleasure like they did. The tears were many, the doubt was crushing. It was hard carrying that burden, trying to reconcile the truth that God's grace carried-the truth that I wasn't justified by deeds, the fact that the cross was speaking on my behalf-with what was taking place.
Many were also the nights where if it weren't for the grace of God, in my drunken stupor, I could have caused a lot of damage, to myself included.
Today, I say to my accusers:
Where are you at? Come see me right now!!! Come taste the Grace of God!!! You know who you are!!!
And today, my God, on my behalf, says:
Where are they? Is there anyone left to condemn you? My grace was sufficient for you then and it is more than enough for you now.
To my brothers and sisters struggling with sin or any type of addiction:
Hang in there and hold onto grace as tight as you can! I mean that. HOLD ONTO GRACE while God moves in you. God moves in his own timing. Just trust him with all your heart and He will deliver you.
This is where perseverance comes in.
Also called preservation of the saints;[114] the "saints" being those whom God has predestined to salvation[a]) asserts that since God is sovereign and his will cannot be frustrated by humans or anything else, those whom God has called into communion with himself will continue in faith until the end. Those who apparently fall away either never had true faith to begin with (1 John 2:19), or, if they are saved but not presently walking in the Spirit, they will be divinely chastened (Hebrews 12:5–11) and will repent (1 John 3:6–9).[115]
Galatians 2:21
"We cannot frustrate the grace of God. For if righteousness came by way of the law, Christ died in vain."
At the same time, dont take advantage of the goodness and grace of God and give yourself a license to sin.
Romans 6
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Hallelujah!
Thank you my God, for delivering and redeeming me.
Come Lord Jesus!
